Andrew Rannells is an American stage, film and voice actor. He is best known for his role on Broadway musical The Book of Mormon. Which he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical.

Having grown up in community theater, Rannells began his career as a professional actor as a voice actor as a youngster. Through an Omaha casting call in the mid-1990s, he landed work with the cartoon production business DIC Entertainment. He was then cast as a main voice actor in a number of their television shows. While pursuing theater, he continued to work in the medium for a number of years.
From 2001 until 2004, Rannells worked for 4Kids Entertainment in New York City, where he voiced various English dubs of anime series such as Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, as well as serving as voice director for the dubs of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! and Sonic X.
From September 2000 to August 2001, he played James in the touring production of Pokémon Live! as one of his first theater roles. In 2014, when asked about his experience, he joked that he would have preferred starred in a porn or snuff film and that he only took the job for the money.

Rannells appeared in a variety of regional theatrical shows before landing his first Broadway role, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Miss Saigon, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. In September 2002, he earned the B. Iden Payne Awards for best actor in a musical for his performance as Hedwig at the Zachary Scott Theater Center in Austin, Texas. The B. He made his Broadway debut in 2002, playing Link Larkin in Hairspray on Broadway. He then went on to do some regional work, including playing Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys’ First National Tour. On December 6, 2008, in Toronto, he gave his final performance with the tour. In January 2009, he returned to Broadway to reprise his role as Gaudio in the musical.
He first appeared on Broadway in 2002, playing Link Larkin in Hairspray. After that, he did some regional work, including a role as Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys’ First National Tour. He gave his final performance with the tour on December 6, 2008, in Toronto. He returned to Broadway in January 2009 to resume his role as Gaudio in the musical.
