Ann Curry is an Emmy award-winning News reporter majorly focused on human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry has been in the Media industry for more than 30 years. Her television career started at KTVL in Medford, Oregon as an intern in 1978. In her college years, Curry worked as a cocktail waitress.

Ann Curry Career

In 1978 Curry started her career as an intern for KTVL. There she rose to become the station’s first female news reporter. Curry became a reporter and anchor for NBC station KGW in Portland in 1980. Curry relocated to Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS-TV. Curry joined NBC News in 1990, initially as a Chicago correspondent for the network, then as the host of NBC News at Sunrise from 1991 until 1996. Curry previously worked at Today from 1994 to 1997 as a replacement news anchor for Matt Lauer. She worked as a news anchor for Today from 1997 till 2011. Curry was chosen co-host of Dateline NBC alongside Stone Phillips on June 24, 2005; after Phillips left on July 2, 2007, she served as the lead anchor until she replaced Meredith Vieira on Today in 2011. From 2005 through 2011, she was the primary substitute on NBC Nightly News. In June 2012, Curry was widely reported as being replaced as co-host of Today. In 2015, Curry was announced as officially leaving NBC News. Since August 2019, Curry now hosts TNT/TBS’s Chasing the Cure.
