Alcaraz made his ATP main draw debut at the 2020 Rio Open, at the age of 16 years. He defeated his fellow Spanish professional Albert Ramos Viñolas, 7–6(7–2), 4–6, 7–6(7–2) after receiving a wildcard for the singles main draw.
Alcaraz qualified for the main draw of the 2021 Australian Open, making him the youngest participant in the men’s singles, at the age of 17 years.
Qualifying and advancing to 2021 Australian Open 2R at age 17, made him the youngest player to earn a Grand Slam win since Kokkinakis, 17, at 2014 Australian Open.
He won his grand slam debut after beating Dutch tennis qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets. Alcaraz also became the youngest match-winner in the Madrid Open tournament history with his maiden match win in a Masters 1000 as a wildcard over Adrian Mannarino, breaking 18-year-old Rafael Nadal’s record from 2004. In the second round, Alcaraz faced five-time champion, Rafael Nadal. When he is not playing tennis Alcaraz enjoys golf and football. He is a Real Madrid fan.
