She later gained admission to Mississippi State University in 2010 and graduated with a Certificate in Meteorology before enrolling in a diploma program in Meteorology at the same University. Cheryl began her journalist career at NBC’s Georgia-affiliated station, WMAZ-TV, NBC 5 in Chicago, and WBIR-TV in Tennessee, where she anchored the morning and evening weather newscast. In 2006, she began her career in Philadelphia, where she worked as an intern trainee at the WCAU-NBC10, where she acquired weather forecasting and meteorological broadcasting skills. She acquired enough skills and understood experience and sharpened her for meteorological broadcast. She later joined at WSEE-TV in Eire in 2007 Cheryl served as a 24-hour weather reporter for a Caribbean Weather Station. She worked as a weather news anchor and a meteorologist and reporter on weather changes and conditions in different parts of the United States. She is currently serving at WMAQ-TV and ABC7 as a meteorologist and Weather reporter, and Caster. Cheryl is also involved in social works and non-profitable organizations. She is on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Blood for all, and much more. In 2009, she joined WBIR-TV, an NBC affiliate station, in Knoxville as the weekend reporter.
