Since returning to Milwaukee in the year 1990, he covered every major sports event at the local and national levels, including the 2011 Rose Bowl, the Green Bay Packers win in Super Bowl XLV and their defeat against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII, the Wisconsin Badgers’ victory in the 1999 Rose Bowl, Wisconsin’s back-to-back appearances in the Final Four and Marquette University’s journey to the Final Four during the 2003 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
He has interviewed several superstars in local and national sports, from Robin Yount to Brett Favre. He even interviewed President George W. Bush when he was still the owner of the Texas Rangers. Prior to coming to Milwaukee, Dan served as a weekend sports anchor/reporter at WAOW-TV in Wausau, and as sports director at WNBK-FM in New London, Wis. He also worked as the sports and news director at WCFW-FM in Chippewa Falls.
His award-winning work at WISN 12 includes a Wisconsin Broadcast Association award for the “Best Sportscast”, a Milwaukee Press Club award for the “Best Outside Sports Newscast” for coverage of the final game at County Stadium called “Thanks for the Memories,” a Milwaukee Press Club honor for “Best Planned Coverage” of “Forever 19,” a story about Milwaukee Brewers Hall-of-Famer Robin Yount, and for “Best Sports Feature” by the Midwest Associated Press in for “Bad Seats at County Stadium.”
