Patricia Mafalda DiMango, popularly known as Patricia DiMango, is one of the court’s judges called ‘Hot Bench ‘on CBS. She is also a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Kings County, based in New York. Patricia was the first Italian-American woman to be named as justice of the State Supreme Court.
After she graduated from law school, Patricia served for 5 1/2 years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. During her service period, she was given the extra responsibility of being cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. She also worked as a law clerk in both Kings and Queens Counties to Supreme Court Justices Steven Fisher, Reinaldo Rivera, and Luigi Marano. At that point, Judge DiMango offered her assistance as a Small Claims Court Arbitrator.
She served as the chairperson on the Board of Directors of the Law and Paralegal Studies Department at New York City Technical College. Patricia also served as the chairperson on the Assigned Counsel Advisory Committee for the 2nd, 11th, and 13th Judicial Districts. Additionally, Patricia worked on the Board of Directors for The Cathedral Club of Brooklyn.

In 1995 she was appointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to serve as a Judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New York. Before she was appointed, she worked as was a school teacher at NYC Public School, serving children with emotional and intellectual deficiencies. In 1998 she worked as the Acting justice of the State Supreme Court in the 2nd Judicial District. She was later elected as a justice of the Supreme Court of Kings Country after two years retiring and retired in March 2014.
She is also mentioned in a New Yorker article regarding Kalief Browder, a 16-year-old who spent over three years in Rikers Island awaiting trial. In the article, she acted as the presiding judge, where she released Browder on his 31st court appearance. DiMango has also been featured in several other court high-profile cases.
