He got his first acting role as a pedestrian in I’m Gonna Git You Sucka in 1988. He often collaborates with his brother Shawn Wayans, and together they have appeared in several movies including the comedic films Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, The WB sitcom The Wayans Bros, Little Man, White Chicks, and Dance Flick.
He had a dramatic role in Darren Aronofsky’s critically acclaimed Requiem for a Dream, which saw his departure from the usual comedies. He has appeared in many films such as G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, starred in A Haunted House, co-starred in The Heat. A Haunted House 2, and Naked.
In 2007, he hosted the best of the comedic short film screening at the 2007 Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival where he treated the audience to an insightful lecture on the history of the short film and its relevance in contemporary comedy filmmaking.
He partnered with former Funny or Die co-founder Randy Adams to create ‘What the Funny’, an online destination for urban comedy. He created the comedy competition television show, Funniest Wins, which aired on TBS in June – August 2014.
In 2016, he wrote, produced, and starred in Fifty Shades of Black, a parody of the 2015 erotic romantic drama film Fifty Shades of Grey.
In 2017, NBC gave him his own sitcom, Marlon, for a 10-episode run, and in September he got renewed by NBC for a second season which is now available on Netflix.

He will play a man, Alan, who is trying to find and meet his birth mother before his first child arrives. During this process, Alan meets his brother Russell and finds out that they are actually two brothers from a set of sextuplets.
Alan then sets out to find his four remaining siblings, so he and Russell embark on a road trip to locate the rest of their family. Unfortunately, Alan will quickly realize that this quest and the family it digs up might be leading him down a path that’s way more than he bargained for. As you might have guessed, Marlon Wayans will play all five of Alan’s siblings, which lands him six major roles in Sextuplets.
