Teale used to front sport on ITV News Central before joining ITN in 2007 as a presenter on Setanta Sports then as the main anchor of London Tonight. He continued to front network news for ITV and Teal return to ITV News Central after spells with Sky News and the British Forces Broadcasting Service.

Teale has been with ITV in the Midlands since 1997, and on Thursdays and Fridays, she is the Main Presenter of their evening news broadcast in the East and West Midlands. He also works for the British Forces Broadcasting Service and Sky News as a freelancer.. Teale began his career as a researcher, producer, director, and series producer on various regional and network programs after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in broadcast journalism. He later worked for ITV’s Regional Programmes Department as a researcher, producer, director, and series producer on various regional and network programs.

Teale was announced as the new co-host of London Tonight alongside Katie Derham and Nina Hossain in August 2009, succeeding veteran newscaster Alastair Stewart. He debuted as a relief presenter on August 25, 2009, then as a primary co-presenter on September 7, 2009.Teale has been presenting ITV News early morning and lunchtime briefings, as well as weekend versions of ITV News London, since September 2009. Since June 2010, he has been presenting sports news on Sky News. He returned to ITV News Central on February 2, 2012, to present with Sameena Ali-Khan.
