Maureen McGuire Yoga
She focused on aerobics and dance classes, but always ended her classes with a short Yoga and from there people started inquiring about Yoga classes. Mc Guire sure did enjoy fitness, since she was a dancer from when she was young and still an early adapter of Yoga. She has been practicing it for 49 years but never did she ever consider it being her original career for she always wanted to be a lawyer. Maureen McGuire taught Yoga for many years and was eventually asked to teach at Yale University, promoting her to get her certification and she believes that the power of Yoga is bringing people together since her classes have drawn more than 150 students. She teaches at Yoga at Payne Whitney Gym and also teaches at East Shore Senior Center. Maureen has done other volunteer work over the years. She requested permission to use the beach for Saturday morning donation classes and she was approved, and for the past 19 years, she has been doing so. She opened a studio in New Haven that could help her help out the homeless. As she continued her donation Yoga classes on the beach, the demand for more classes grew and the Rec Department began to offer other classes throughout the year

After her graduation, she has worked as a reporter at Colombia, Jefferson City, Traverse City, St. Louis, and later back in her hometown, Rochester. She has been working as a Journalist for 27 years and she sure does love writing, the one major factor that leads her to her career. Before becoming a Journalist, she had ventured out for a couple of years bouncing around job to job, mostly at publishing companies. She even tried freelancing as a studio musician playing piano on soundtracks and could be a veteran of radio and television news, Maureen McGuire enjoyed success in an exceedingly range of television markets before returning to her town in 1997. Maureen is very happy to figure with teams and organisations that enrich her town community, together with the carcinoma Coalition of Rochester, Lifespan, Gilda’s Club, the Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly, Notre Dame Learning Center, The Alzheimer’s Association, and Bishop Kearney High School.
