He currently works as an editor-in-chief for the San Francisco Bay Area edition of The Athletic. He was previously a sports columnist for the San Jose Mercury News and has maintained a blog, communicated on Twitter, and had a podcast series. In 2013, he was given the title of the best California Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and also the Sportswriters Association. However, he also appeared regularly on television on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
