She has a career-high ranking of 336 in singles and 89 in the doubles rankings of the WTA. She made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2018 St. Petersburg Trophy in the doubles tournament, partnering Dayana Yastremska.

In June 2021, Russian tennis player Yana Sizikova was arrested in Paris by French police as part of a match-fixing investigation. Sizikova was taken into custody on the evening of Thursday 3 June 2021 after a match in the women’s doubles tournament. Sizikova lost 6-1, 6-1 in her French Open first-round doubles match while partnering with her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova against Australian pair Ajla Tomljanovic and Storm Sanders. According to Le Parisien, Sizikova was arrested while leaving a massage session after her match and her hotel room was searched before her arrest.
In September 2020, French prosecutors opened an investigation into fraud in an organised group and active and passive corruption over alleged match-fixing in a women’s doubles match at the 2020 French Open. The investigation related to a match between Romanian pair Andreea Mitu and Patricia Mari and Sizikova and American Madison Brengle. Sizikova and Brengle lost 7-6 (8), 6-4 to the Romanian duo. It was alleged that Sizikova and her doubles partner lost a service game on purpose, with the Russian serving double faults.
