Shortly after graduation Amber started her broadcast career at WYMT-TV in Hazard, KY. During her time at WYMT, she served as reporter and co-anchor of Mountain News this morning. She later moved to WKYT in 2004.
In 2009 and 2013 she was awarded the Best Newscaster in Kentucky award by the Associated Press. She has been a part of several award-winning newscasts and has been nominated for two regional Emmy awards.
Amber who is committed to her community and to giving back, is the former Board Chair for the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross. Amber served as chair for their annual Disaster Blaster event, for five years raising thousands of dollars for relief efforts. Serving as the honorary chair for the Annual Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes in central Kentucky, she works closely with the American Diabetes Association. For her efforts to raise awareness about diabetes in Kentucky, Amber was named Volunteer of the Year for the ADA, in 2014. For her work in the community, she has also been recognized by Baptist Health with the Celebration of Women Award. In 2015 Amber has given the Celebration of Life Award for raising awareness about breast cancer from Komen Kentucky. She is a member of the Republican Christian Church in Cynthiana where she serves as a deacon.
