She formerly worked as a reporter for WCVB in Boston, where she covered news and was a feature reporter for Patriots All Access, a weekly sports show.From 2003 until 2006, Thornton worked as a news anchor and reporter for WFXT in Boston. She reported live from the 2004 Democratic National Convention, the Super Bowl, the Red Sox’s spectacular run to the 2004 World Series, and the historic gay marriage referendum in Massachusetts, in addition to her duties as a weekend morning anchor for the station.

Thornton worked for WNCN in Raleigh, North Carolina, as a reporter and fill-in anchor from 1999 to 2003, covering everything from the opening of the tobacco markets to numerous significant hurricanes, including Hurricane Floyd, a Category 4 storm that slammed into the Eastern Seaboard in 1999. During the commencement of the Iraq War, Angelica also reported live from military bases in North Carolina.Thornton began her career as an anchor and reporter at KECI in Missoula, Montana, and she is thrilled to be back in the Northwest!
