She was born in New York, her father is known as Ernest Anthony Puente Jr mostly referred to as “Tito Puente” and her is mother Margaret Ascencio. Her father was a worldwide famous legendary Latin percussionist as well as a musician who was famously credited as “The King of the Timbales” and “King of Latin Jazz”. Puentes father died on May 31, 2000, in a New York City Hospital at the age of 77 due to heart disease.
