Hodges married his wife called Tammy Hornsby, in 1986. The couple later relocated to Colorado Springs, where Chris served as a youth pastor and senior associate pastor for the New Life Church. The couple is blessed with five children in Birmingham, Alabama, in the United States of America.

Chris was born and entered the ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States of America. He started his preaching career as a youth pastor at Bethany World Prayer Center outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He came back to the Bethany World Prayer Center in 1994, where he served as an associate pastor. While he was there, he hosted a daily television program titled ‘Lifeline.’ Hodges also relocated to Birmingham in 2000 with his new aim of founding a new church. He organized the Association of Related Churches, a non-profit involved in church development and importing leaders to serve in the new Church of the Highlands.
The first service took place in February 2001 at Mountain Brook High School’s auditorium. The new church became one of the fastest-growing congregations in the country and later constructed its campus in 2007.

Chris’ church of the Highlands was opened in the year 2001. Therefore, it has grown to average over 38,000 people who attend each weekend session and know its life-giving nature. The church also concentrates on guiding people to have an intimate relationship with God.
Hodges has a passion and interest for growing leaders and planting life-giving churches. He was among the co-founders of ARC (Association of Related Churches) in 2001, which has led to emerging of hundreds of churches all over the United States of America.
Chris has also founded the GROW, a one-of-a-kind experience that mainly aims at training and resourcing pastors and churches to support them overcome any barriers and reach their growth potential. He is also the founder and President of the Highlands College, a ministry training school that focuses on teaching setting students into full-time ministry careers.
