Connor Bedard Biography
Connor Bedard is a Canadian junior ice hockey centreman. Bedard currently plays in The Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Regina Pats. In March 2020, Bedard was granted exceptional status by The British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association. He was selected by the Regina Pats first overall in the 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft as the first-ever Western Hockey League player of exceptional status. Bedard will qualify for the National Hockey League entry draft in 2023.
Bedard emerged as a young hockey prospect, in 2018. An article by The Hockey News referred to him as “the future of hockey”. He played minor hockey with West Van Academy Prep of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. In April 2021, he was called to the Canada men’s national under-18 ice hockey team for the upcoming 2021 IIHF World U18 Championships in Frisco, Texas, United States.
