She accepted her first-weekend weather job after graduating in Eastern Idaho, where she also reported and spent time on the anchor desk during the week. Even with a variety of experiences ranging from interviewing Mitt Romney to being asked to join a local roller derby club.
She discovered that she felt most at ease when she was outside in the weather. She subsequently got a morning weather job in her hometown of Boise, Idaho, and opted to return to school to obtain her meteorological certification from Mississippi State University, which she completed in August 2018.
