Montgomery studied dance at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts in Bedford but decided to pursue acting instead of dancing professionally. Obtaining acting representation was initially difficult due to her lack of drama school expertise. Her success came after she co-wrote and produced a play with her buddy Gethin Anthony.
She made her television debut in 2008 as Tony Stonem’s love interest in an episode of the teen drama Skins. She also appeared in the short film Flushed and the TV movie Dis/Connected.
