He also worked at WPLG as a Morning and Noon News Anchor, at KTLA as an Anchor and Reporter, and at KFSN as a Morning and Midday News Anchor. Martinez began his career as a reporter at WTVG in Toledo, Ohio and then he moved to KFSN where he worked as a news anchor from 2004 to January 2009. Martinez joined KTLA in 2009 serving as an anchor and reporter for a year before transferring to WPLG in 2010 where his main duties there were anchoring the morning and noontime news. He again moved to ABC 10 News in 2015 as a morning and Midday anchor. His time there was four years three months. He then joined Fox 29 in Jun 2019 where he has been working to date. His experience as a news reporter and anchor includes anchoring non-stop coverage of the devastating Lilac Fire, which destroyed more than 200 homes, the international border conflict, immigration issues, and California’s cost of living crisis. covering some of the wildest “only in Florida” stories of his career. Jason covered Presidential elections in the swing state, US-Cuba relations, fake plastic surgeons, a violent face-eating incident, and two Miami Heat NBA championships. His experience in the reporting field has taken him through floods, crime scenes, presidential elections, plane crashes, tornadoes, and hurricanes. In Fresno, CA, He won an Emmy Award providing coverage for a devastating freeze that destroyed Central California’s citrus crops. Jason’s work while at KTLA earned him his fourth Emmy Award for team coverage of Michael Jackson’s shocking death and he also covered several major stories including the November 2002 outbreak of tornadoes, “The Big Blackout,” and he interviewed a young high school kid named LeBron James, who was good at basketball.
