Kimberly Klacik also known as Kim Klacik is an American Republican strategist and community activist. Her birth name is Kimberly Nicole Klacik. She was a candidate in a special election to the U.S. House to represent Maryland’s 7th Congressional District on 28 April 2020.
She won the Republican primary and faced the Democrat’s Kweisi Mfume in a special election on 28 April 2020, to fill the remainder with the term in the United States House of Representatives for Maryland’s 7th congressional district in the 116th U.S. Congress.
The special general elections coincided with the primary voting for the November 2020 general election. Kwesi Mfume is her opponent, former President as well as CEO of NAACP, and also a former U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 7th congressional district (1987–1996).
In 2013, she founded “Potential Me” to assist under-served women with workforce improvement. Her platform includes women’s issues, including a goal to make oral contraceptives available over the counter at pharmacies to increase access to the medication, which resonates with voters.

Klacik said on 8 February 2020 after winning the primary election to run for the late congressman Elijah Cummings’s old seat in Baltimore that she won because of her “grassroots efforts,” she added that some of President Trump’s policies will help her historically blue district.
“What I try to remind people is if you take a look at President Trump — take a look at prison reform, First Step Act, he is rewinding and fixing what was broken with that crime bill that led to so much mass incarceration that you really see in the greater Baltimore area,” She said on Fox News.

I remember after Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, she spent two years traveling the country trying to figure out why she lost, but it is because they don’t actually go into the black community and talk to people, or they make promises they don’t keep,”
