Meese and other initial members of Studio C came up with the concept for the show as members of BYU’s on-campus sketch comedy club, Divine Comedy. BYUtv did not consider the project until Meese met with content director Jared Shores, his best friend, and offered the idea to him.
He is credited as one of Studio C’s creators as well as the show’s head writer. Matt has played a variety of characters in his sketch comedy.

He is best known for his portrayal of Scott Sterling, an unlucky soccer and volleyball player who is constantly hit in the head and, as a result, helps his side win. The Sterling sketches are Studio C’s most popular sketches in terms of views, with the Sterling series being the only Studio C videos to reach 75 million views on YouTube.

While Studio C had the tenth season, he and the other nine original cast members left after the ninth season to start and star in a new production business named JK! Studios, as reported in August 2018. After breaking the news, he also stated that if the opportunity comes, he would like to perform future guest appearances on the show.
