Wendy was born in the United States, in the city of Los Angeles. When she was in her teens, she co-founded Wendy Phillips with Carnie and a childhood friend, Chynna Phillips. Wilson Phillips split up after two albums were released in 1990 and 1992. Wendy and Carnie collaborated on a Christmas CD in 1993, as well as an album with their long-estranged father, Brian, called The Wilsons, in 1997. She reconnected with Carnie and Phillips for Wilson Phillips’ third album, California, in 2004. Wilson Phillips reformed in 2012 and released the album Dedicated, which featured interpretations of Beach Boys and Mamas & Papas songs.
